West Indian Cricket Commentator Tony Cozier has died aged 75. Summer's are getting less and less like summer :(

Because he was on the radio, I always thought he was a Black dude.

Must admit I thought he was as well, due to his West Indian accent.

Darwyn Cooke, an animator and writer who did design work for a few Canadian magazines before going into animation and comic books, passed early this morning, having just entered hospice care, losing a battle with cancer.  He was only a year older than my dad, and likely younger than many here (54).

He wrote and drew an excellent graphic novel, Justice League: The New Frontier, telling the story of American culture transitioning from the early post-war period into the turbulent but optimistic early 60's through the lens of the comic industry's transition from its own Golden Age into the Silver Age.  The central theme of the book is codified in a slightly altered transcript of President Kennedy's "New Frontier" speech.

He designed Catwoman's most iconic costume, and it's stuck with the character for over ten years, including Anne Hathaway's recent live-action portrayal, with minimal alterations.

English Actor Burt Kwouk has died. Best known for playing an Old Buffer in last of the Summer Wine, or possibly Cato Fong in the Ping Panther films.

He had a tenuous Rush connection, he presented Channel 4 programme Banzai! which often featured the intro of Xanadu as incidental music.

According to a short article I read today, her husband purposely released that info when he did because "that's the way she wanted it".

I'd be as likely to give those shysters anything as I would to give to a pedophile priest legal defense fund.

I don't normally dance on people's graves, but I would happily do a two-step on hers.  As I did with her husband's.  The world is a little less horrible with her absence.  Sorry for her family's loss, but she was a total dick.

Arse. Dave Swarbrick will fiddle no more. I was only listening to Fairport Convention's Liege and Lief in the car today. One of the best albums Evah.

RIP Swarbs.
