The QotSA/TCV/Kyuss/Desert Sessions Thread

This is my favorite track from their self-titled debut album, called You Can't Quit Me, Baby. A song about obsession, stalking, insanity and self-destruction.
While many Kyuss elements remain in the songwriting, QotSA veers down darker pathways, and this tune exemplifies the themes that Homme will explore over-and-over again in the future.
Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri on Bass, Branden McNichol on slide, Gene Trautmann on drums.

Finding good quality audio for older live QotSA can be a challenge, so I have to dip into more modern incarnations of the band at times, playing material from their first two albums.
'Monsters in the Parasol' performed live in 2007.
Josh, Troy Van Leeuwen on second guitar, Mike Shuman on bass, Dean Fertita on keys and Joey Castillo on drums.

Great news; my best friend had a baby on the first of March and his name is Joshua, named after Josh Homme. This is the second kid born among my group of friends to be named after either Josh or one of his musical projects.
Casey, any more news about the upcoming album during the board crash interval?

Congrats to your friend on the bouncing baby Josh!
No news on the album release as of yet, and some members of the QotSA board that I frequent are about to have strokes over when the announcements are going to be made.
They have booked a few summer festival gigs, however. So far the only North American date is in the Vancouver BC area. Rest assured that as soon as the info drops I'll be coming here to fill everyone in!

They haven't played in my neck of the woods since '07 and I couldn't go 'cause it was the end of the month and I was *so broke*! So I am definitely hoping they'll come back this way again.
Thanks for the well-wishes; the baby arrived a month early but everyone is in good health. Mom didn't even get to go to her own baby shower!

Alain has a decent voice, I'd even say it's more pleasing than Josh's. Song is solid.
Agreed. AJ is one of the best all-around musicians on the planet right now. Singer, guitar player, composer, producer...he wears all the hats and wears them well.
Here's one of his solo songs. Check out the outstanding guitar work...

Hey Casey, can you repost that one Josh Homme song that you put up on the old board right before it went kaput? I think it was a solo song of his from a movie. I really liked it. Thanks in advance!
