Once again we see England play really well for the main event of the winter (the tests in India) and then play like arse in the secondary mission (the Hobbit series).
At least Australia are getting totally pumelled and rendered a laughing stock over Homeworkgate.

James,
A Radiohead fan might enjoy test cricket - both are complex and multilayered. The combination of athleticism, psychology and the need to concentrate for longer than your opponent makes for fascinating viewing. Sometimes, nothing much happens for four days, and then the game goes nuts in the last hour, turning into a mad chase or a desperate last-ditch defence.
Surely you get the reference to Sir Henry Newbolt:
There's a breathless hush in the Close to-night
Ten to make and the match to win
A bumping pitch and a blinding light
An hour to play and the last man in
And it's not for the sake of a ribboned coat
Or the selfish hope of a season's fame
But his captain's hand on his shoulder smote
"Play up! play up! and play the game!
The sand of the desert is sodden red
Red with the wreck of a square that broke
The Gatling's jammed and the Colonel dead
And the regiment blind with dust and smoke
The river of death has brimmed his banks,
And England's far, and Honour a name,
But the voice of a schoolboy rallies the ranks:
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"
This is the word that year by year
While in her place the school is set
Every one of her sons must hear
And none that hears it dare forget!
This they all with a joyful mind
Bear through life like a torch in flame,
And falling fling to the host behind—
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"

Well, if that doesn't prove that Creekit is the best game in the world, I don't know what will.
It had everything! From a game that looked like it wouldn't last three days it went to the fifth and was packed with excitement and controversy.
Most excellent nerve-shredding stuff. And a pigeon got on a bus too!

Yes, brilliant entertainment. This is why test cricket is my favourite sport - a slow-burn for four days, gradually building up to a massive crescendo!
They''ll have to be careful not to burn Anderson out, as the next test starts on Thursday. Good job he's super-fit and hardly ever breaks down.

If that doesn't prove that Creekit's the best game in the world, then I'm Boyc's granny's old pinny.
Love the updated Shane Watson entry on Wikipedia:
Shane Robert Watson (born 17 June 1981) is an Australian cricketer. He is a right-handed LBW candidate and a right-handed fast medium bowler. He announced his retirement due to injury after the 4th 2013 Ashes Test Match citing deep vein thrombosis, caused by being repeatedly hit in the same spot on his front leg.
