OK, so the band as we know it is over and done. Mostly because Neil can't play like Neil anymore. Totally understandable.

But Neil can still play like Rutsey, I assume.

So why not have the 3 of them get back together and pick up where they would have gone with Rutsey after the first record?

Chunky Zeppelin-esque rock. Nothing too technical or fancy. No Prog. Just in your face rock and roll.

They could get back on the road, have an opening band and play short sets of pre-FBN stuff, the new heavy record, and covers.

For my tastes and sensibilities I am not keen on that idea. I think of the Rush brand as having a legacy and would wish they keep that legacy in tact. I would go see The Lee/Lifeson Project or something else but would prefer they not use the brand to give us some ersatz Rush.

No thanks. Not at all interesting to me. Plus, Geddy can't sing those songs the way they were meant to be sung
It also presupposes that Neil wants to go on the road again and I'm thinking no way in hell. I can (possibly) see him drumming again but I can't see him touring again.

He just hasn't been presented with the right enticement yet.

Hey there goes Alex. He's loaded with money. Wow he's really set himself up great.

I think they would do best making a sort of all-star band. It’s probably just Alex and Geddy with different drummers and singers. New interpretations of old material and a few new songs. Like Page and Plant did. Big shows in just a few cities.

How can you watch the three of them on stage just playing stuff from the first album and maybe "Feedback" because it won't aggravate Neil's tendonitis?  Get Geddy and Alex to hook up with Mike Portnoy and write some instrumentals a la Liquid Tension Experiment, call it the Lee Lifeson Experiment or something...

They're all just too old and saggy to be a rock band in 2018. And most of their audience is too old to rock'n'roll, as well.

Haven't we all had enough Rush albums and seen enough Rush gigs now?

By the time they would get all this together, they’ll be just shy of 70 y/o

No thanks.

Do what Queen did. Bring in another singer and drummer.

What they could do is bring in a keyboard player and a drummer and start an instrumental group - Lifeson / Lee Project or something like that.

But I don't know if they have the enthusiasm or patience to organise a band these days.
