When they turn the pages of an ancient book to search for honor, philosophers and ploughmen can't understand what it means to be destroyed.

When the ebbing tide comes to slay the dragon, you can pray for glittering prizes, like two passing ships in the dark and gloomy silence.

Though his mind is wistful and weathered, my uncle must put aside the alienation to beat and burn and kill by persistence.

If we need too much approval to build the best big stick, we break the surface tension with a tumble of the dice or a lucky shot in the dark - and we are not alone.

These are better than Neil's actual lyrics!  :all hail blue:

Hey there goes Alex. He's loaded with money. Wow he's really set himself up great.

Truth is after all a moving target, the arrow on a moving target, snakes and arrows a child is heir to, the arrow flies when you dream, or did the dream have me, dreams flow acroos the heartland, wondering what our dreams might be worth, the dream is still in my eyes, dances on the edge of his dream.

Hey baby it’s a quarter to eight, the time between wonder and why. We don’t have to talk, we don’t even have to touch. I think it’s time for us to recognize that nothing can survive in a vacuum. There’s a beacon in the darkness…a ghostly light appears through the driving rain. Christ! What have you done?!

I reckon I could get a decent short story out of this one. Possibly a novel if I had the attention span.

I looked in the mirror today
Ragged lines of ragged grey
Frozen in an everlasting view

A cell of awareness
A companion unobtrusive
Feeding on the fires

We each pay a fabulous price
To run the deadly race
To control the dice

Make them sensitive again
Every breath a static charge
Buried deep in our hearts

You know we told you before

Time is a gypsy caravan

Wheeling through the galaxies

from the lowest low to the highest high

You know we told you before

Time is still the infinite jest

Sailing into destiny

The innocence slips away

Naked in our unity

I knew he was different in his sexuality

Slave to the hormone, body and soul

With an iron fist in a velvet glove

From the point of entry

Until the black hole

Like the whole world exploding

The big bang took and shook the world

Responding with a roar

But I open up my fist

There is never love without pain

I fucked up and missed song.

Here is the fixed version:

If we need too much approval to build the best big stick - and we are not alone, the ones who need to get out of town break the surface tension with a tumble of the dice or a lucky shot in the dark.

Meh. I can do better

Numb with fear, stripped of their disguise, they draw another goblet (we would take water) and turn and look, surprised, to watch the fireworks display in the prison of the night - for the maelstrom isn't all that money buys

Purple backdrop. Nice choice.
