21 Pilots and Blackberry Smoke have been 2 bands I've started listening to over the past few months.

They said I could be anything, so I became a disappointment.

I like these guys. Much better live than recorded too - orgiastic drumming and soaring wild sax.

Rediscovered my love for the Mars Volta lately.  Been jamming out a lot to them.

Just got Dead Cross, the new project from Mike Patton and Dave Lombardo.  Patton takes on LoFi Hardcore/Thrash.  A fun, brutal little listen!

Well here is some prog that I absolutely love: Animals As Leaders

New ground status: Broken

This is something every Rush fan will appreciate.

^^^ These guys are great players, and they have some really sweet tracks.  I just wish instrumental rock didn't bore me so quickly.  Definitely something I'd appreciate more watching live than listening to recorded.

Sounds like maths to me. Rush, at least when they were good, had melodies.

AaL sounds really jazzy to me. Jazz sometimes sounds like math.

Math is good! J.S. Bach was math, too.

All music is math. Sometimes it's basic arithmetic, sometimes it's multivariate calculus.

Chevelle. What a great band. Not one bad album, not one bad song.

Just random stuff.

Exciter - (1980s Canadian metal band a la Judas Priest).  They have some catchy songs like "Feel the Knife", "I Am the Beast",  "Destructor".

Dead Milkmen

Trainspotting 2 soundtrack

Twin Peaks: The Return soundtrack

Harry Dean Stanton - Partly Fiction

Hall & Oates - Greatest Hits

Tom Petty (of course)

Fates Warning - Theories of Flight

Edguy (I need to get their new album because the previous one was pretty fantastic)

Melechesh - Enki

Dinosaur Jr. - Give a Glimpse of What Yr Not

VERY NSFW!!!!  HOLY SHIT DON'T PLAY/WATCH THIS AT WORK!

No but seriously, Lupe's Tetsuo and Youth is a pretty damn solid rap concept album (of which there are very few).  Spectacular imagery, cool experimental tracks (Mural, for instance), and a few creatively flipped narratives (Prisoner 1 & 2 about how the working-class guards in a prison are inmates, too, trapped in wage slavery)
