I think Tyler has aged well.  He's still singing at a very high level.  He still has the expression that the music requires.  I think being more blues-based helps older vocalists.  They can get around the notes through expression and emphasis in ways that more straight-up singers (Geddy, Rob Halford, etc) can't.  It does suck though that all of these guys are getting so old.

Came across this pic of Steve Howe, Geoff Downes and Patrick Moraz, while idly pressing Google into service to find out what Patrick Moraz is up to these days.

Steve famously had no time for the excesses of rock'n'roll and pursued a macrobiotic diet from a young age. Not sure it's done him any favours.

Got to admit though, I've started to forbid photography of myself now.

Would you rather look like Downes or Howe?

Talk about Sophie’s Choice!

Udo, looking sort of like George 'The Animal' Steele.

Saxon's Biff Byford.

39 years since I saw them at a little club in Hartlepool, and to be fair he wasn't a particularly good-looking bloke back then either.

I agree. I'm finding that even store window reflections are cruel. I try not to look into them and see that weird creature that seems to follow me around everywhere I go.

^^^ He's 64. Being really skinny at that age doesn't look so great.  See Steve Howe above.

Sammy still can sing and looks great for his age.  Yeah, David Lee was never that skinny in his prime.  He's fit as a fiddle but looks like the cryptkeeper comparably.  Also, except in the studio, he could never sing.  Not like Sammy.  But the Van Hagar era of VH does not appeal to me.

Roth looks like those years of smoking finally caught up with him. He does not look well.

I agree on the Van Hagar thing.  I like Hagar's solo stuff and his work with Montrose.  But the Van Hagar stuff never appealed to me.  However, Sammy is a cool cat.  He's (somehow) still looking great after all the tequila and craziness.  DLH became a huge nerd shortly after his whole deal blew up.  Went straight from rock-n-roll star to dork is nothing flat.  Guess he was always a dork, but it sure was a surprise...

You might find it interesting that DLR lives in NYC and has in the last 10 years been an ambulance driver when not touring with VH.  He also is the nephew of Manny Roth, owner of Cafe Wha? in Greenwich Village.  Cafe Wha? is known as the first place Jimi Hendrix played in the US.  It's a well-known and thankfully still standing rock club.

For a number of years he trained and trialed sheepdogs (Border Collies).
