It's been a while...thought I'd share a preview of something that came off the assembly line more recently. I was working on electronic material over the autumn and winter and have almost enough of that to release an album, but then started feeling a desire to work on more rock-oriented stuff again (well, at least my quirky variant that still has a fair bit of electronic textures in it). I'm now leaning more towards wanting a more semi-progressive rock album to be the next thing I roll out, but I don't have as much of that material ready to go so it's going to take a few more months to pull that together.

This is one of the more concise tracks. (The one I'm working on now seems to have a mind of its own and is expanding into a more long-form thing.)

I like it. Nice prog/rock/electronica combo. It wasn't just a couple bleeps thrown in for flavor. This was authentic style mixing. As usual, your production standards are off the charts.  :2 thumbs up:

If I recall, you do everything in your home studio, right?

Hey there goes Alex. He's loaded with money. Wow he's really set himself up great.

Thank you kindly. Yep, it's all done at home. The unison riffs were ungodly awkward to play, since I had bass and guitar tuned to drop Bb for those parts. I've since picked up a 5-string bass (had them before but I'm giving it another go) to facilitate these kinds of parts in the future. Another 7-string guitar would be helpful there too - I had one briefly last year, but it had a Floyd Rose and I realized those things are just too fiddly for me.

Thanks, guys. Yeah Greg, you've been along for a long part of the ride, haven't you? It's funny that after all the experiments, I've (at least for the moment) sort of circled back to the kinda-sorta-proggy vicinity I was in with the IM album 14 years ago. But with all the extra water under the bridge, hopefully I have more to bring to that table now and can do a much better job of it!
