Great sadness in the music world today as jazz great, Al Jarreau, died just two weeks after announcing that he'd retire from performing because of exhaustion and failing health.  Mr. Jarreau was a college classmate and friend of my dad's and I had the very good fortune to meet him when he performed in northern California a few years back.  He was a genuinely nice man and incredibly talented singer and performer.  He will be missed...

That's a shame. Such a short retirement too.
