Old school, Baby!! Excellent! God, I'd love to see you guys do a bar gig.

Hey there goes Alex. He's loaded with money. Wow he's really set himself up great.

Not saying the bass player for YYNOT was ever out of tune. Just that the bass on the original Making Memories is.

Just to clarify!

That was completely excellent....

I'd like to offer a positive commentary.

First someone needs to tweak the EQ on the vocal a bit. This lady can sing wonderfully, but there's something in the EQ that might work for Geddy- but not for her. She sounds like Cheryl Crow a bit to me. And going that direction on Making Memories would be very interesting.

Second, and this might be pretty nit-picky but: Many of Rush's lyrics are pretty clumsy. So Geddy seems to make that work by being very concise by making words begin and end on easily defined beats (4th/8th notes- extrapolate for weird time sigs). This helps the band sound even more tight, and the lyrics less clumsy. On Making Memories she was drifting over the beat a little. Which is fine- many singers do that (Cheryl Crow comes to mind).

thanks for the thoughtful tips, worth considering but so far we're pretty happy with the results :)
