This has got to be the biggest game launch ever.  One week, and people are walking around everywhere like zombies trying to find pokemon.  I got it yesterday.  There's one near my home and literally I ran into 9 people all going to this odd spot near a water tower and get the pokemon.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, read this:  https://en.wikipedia...wiki/Pokémon_Go

It's basically a combination of geocaching and an iphone game.  It's single-handedly getting people to move and walk.

My 7-yr old is doing it. We went for a drive yesterday, and as we were getting in the car, 2 of our neighbors were walking down the street looking for them as well. The people at the hardware store were talking to him about it. He thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Hey...where's Perry?

Enterprising street thugs are already capitalizing on this latest craze. People paying absolutely no attention except to their phones, as if they are all 20 somethings, and the punks are mugging them. Easy pickings.

Morons.  Even though the game's load screen SPECIFICALLY mentions that you should always remain aware of your surroundings.
Your phone vibrates when there's a catchable pokemon near anyway, so put it in your pocket or hold it in your hand as you walk.
This is like all those idiots texting while driving.  Surely you realize your attention is best spent elsewhere.
That having been said, I've walked 22 km in about a day, and my legs are tired as hell.

Suspects charged with using 'Pokemon Go' to commit armed robberies

Police believe the suspects conducted multiple armed robberies by targeting their victims through the mobile game "Pokemon Go." They believe the suspects added a beacon near a Poke-stop in their location, which could lure more players nearby...

Police said the suspects stole a wallet and phone.

I don't have a phone that supports it, so I'm out.

I don't play Pokemon, don't watch Game of Thrones, don't listen to Drake. #OfficiallyAnOldLady

Haven't played it or downloaded it, but I'll stick with Ingress.  Just 400,000 points to Level 10.

If you know Ingress, Levels 8+ are a bitch to reach.  You are supposed to join others to take down and install huge fields.  I haven't done that really, so flying solo, it's a huge bitch to level up in this game.  Many give up around this same time.

I also heard that the portals in Ingress are the same as where the Pokemon are.  Not sure if that's true or not but it would make sense...

You're much, much better off regarding the first and last, especially the last. As for the second, the bandwagon is nearing it's end so you can catch them on DVD.

don't watch Game of Thrones

Now that's surprising. I figured you'd be on board, being a Sci Fi fan and all. Anyway, check it out if you can - it really is a great series.

I mean, I have shit to do, too.
But when I talk the dog out for a walk, I bring the phone with me.  Or I go walking in the park by the house and I'll take the phone.
It's basically just a motivator to get people to walk around.  I don't think we should be mocking people for doing it, given our obesity rate.

I'm hearing a lot of the Pokemon Go violence is being carried out by Care Bear crews across America. This could get ugly.

I wanted to read the books first. So far I've read the first two. At this rate I'll be as old as GRRM when I'm done. :P

Chucky apparently has been raising all the cabbage patch kids into wights (zombies are boring) . So it's gonna get interesting out there.
