The final bow...just look how happy that man in the middle is. Rush are done.

First onstage smile in 40 years of Rush. Oh wait, I think I saw him smile once in 1986.

Hey there goes Alex. He's loaded with money. Wow he's really set himself up great.

I recently talked to a drum magazine pal of mine.

It might not be over.

So, um, I'll call. Care to elaborate on this?

Well he didn't elaborate much either, just that there will be more music from the band. He was pretty definitive in expressing that Geddy and Alex wouldn't play with another drummer. I guess we will see.

I've heard rumors that Rush will be working with Max Martin to write songs for a new project, this will bring Rush into the mainstream of pop music,a dream that the band has longed for, imagine if rush went to work work work and toured with my homeboys 21pilots?ok..just dreaming ,but great musicians never retire..Haydn was just learning the woodwinds at like 65 years old. As long as they are healthy ,I imagine rush will be a current band

Here's to hoping that if RUSH does make music and that Neil uses his double bass drum kit with the concert toms. Let's face it, Neil's drum sound has been pretty lame ever since he retired the Ludwigs and Tama's.

I was disappointed in the way the last tour was handled - just in the sense that it was mere rumor that it might be the last at the time of the tour.  And they didn't come to my city (Pittsburgh) this time.  (Maybe because Neil had a motorcycle accident last time?)  Usually they have two legs to a tour.  Oh well.  It's not like I haven't seen them many times - and have a bunch of live dvds/cds.

Nope, wasn't a smile in '86. After some debate, experts finally concluded that he grimaced while squeezing off a loud fart in between Subdivisions and the Manhattan Project.

Jeez, that's some field to be an expert in. Fartology?

He could fart during Subdivisions and everybody would just think Geddy had thrown in an extra keyboard flourish.

There are days I sit at my desk and wonder if I shouldn't have been a fartologist. The road not taken...oh well

Sampled. It's one of the sounds they use on RTB. No wonder I always have the urge to hit the men's room right at that time in the set.

I doubt that it would have made you stinking rich. Well maybe the former.

Not much money in it for sure, but a great way to pick up women. It's a conversation starter

Jim Dawson was a pioneer in the field

Just about the only thing I think they could have done much differently would have bee to say at the beginning of the tour....

"Hey, this is it for this tour. These are the ONLY dates. So if you want to see us, come see us now."

Then, if they had changed Neil's mind, it would've been a bonus.

Instead, we had interviews with Ged and Al where they spoke about trying to get more dates out of Neil. That was the only part that sucked.

Oh, and the fact that they didn't go back to EUR/UK.

It is what it is.

If they decide to make more music, I'll be happy.  Otherwise, I'm cool with "retirement".  The guys could work on other projects and I would give them a listen.  I would shit myself if Victor reared its ugly head....

BLAH BLAH BLAH  Definitive statement? ... For how long has RUSH kept the world in suspense about what and when they were going to move forward? As if this is anything new for us.

Official last moment Neil smiled before the final bow...
