One positive thing about the Mystic Rhythms version of Big Moolah is that at least they put in all the synth parts (even if some of the sounds were a bit weak) and tried to approximate some of the sampled/processed percussion sounds. When you see someone cover mid-late '80s Rush and those things are left out, it feels half-assed to me. I realize most Rush fan musicians aren't much into synths and may not have the motivation (or programming ability) to tackle those things, but they were an integral part of the band's sound in that period.

It's true, they do seem to have most of the bells and whistles of that period.

Hey there goes Alex. He's loaded with money. Wow he's really set himself up great.

Listening to their version of Big Money again it occurred to me that the singer would be great as Tony Lewis in an Outfield tribute band.

If you zoom forward to 2:37 you'll see that the guitar player on the left is apparently performing in tighty-whities.

Denny Doherty looks like a Monkees reject in this video.

When I was a kid my parents bought me a couple of records and 8-tracks for Christmas and one of them was the Osmond Brothers with this song on it. I'd say that's about as close as they came to actual rock and roll. If you disregard the period outfits, the song isn't terrible.

They said I could be anything, so I became a disappointment.

They're dressed like '70s street pimps. :)

With a few adjustments, that could be a Kiss song.
