Dang, these guys are good!  I like his voice better than Geddy's.    :)

^^^ Don't know if you're being serious but I'm not keen on that guy's voice. Too generic for my tastes. No vibrato.

But I have to admire the way they change looks according to era. lol.

Not kidding, but not 100% serious.  Watching that video, I guess I was comparing the Geddy of this era to this guy's voice.  Geddy's voice has been shot for years and that's what I was thinking of.  I don't normally care for cover bands, but these guys do a great job and it's pretty hilarious how they change their wardrobe along the way.  It's almost like mimicry...but they can back it up, so good on them.

That guy can effin sing high.

I wish Weird Al Yankovic would do a Rush parody; taking hits off a helium balloon between lines.

Weird Al Rush parodies. Thread idea?

You can always rely on Norwegian black metal bands for looking really bad.

I think this recording has his voice auto-tuned... I bet he wouldn't sound as pitch-perfect in a live setting...

Yep. Guitarist not quite ready for prime-time. Bass player has the appropriate Geddy energy (or Gedergy) bass sound and playing-wise. Vocals not so much (although he does hit all the notes}.

I think he's probably hitting the notes naturally. Rush tribute bands have to reproduce the songs pretty accurately in a live setting because Rush fans are snooty jerks when it comes to that kind of stuff. lol.

One positive thing about the Mystic Rhythms version of Big Moolah is that at least they put in all the synth parts (even if some of the sounds were a bit weak) and tried to approximate some of the sampled/processed percussion sounds. When you see someone cover mid-late '80s Rush and those things are left out, it feels half-assed to me. I realize most Rush fan musicians aren't much into synths and may not have the motivation (or programming ability) to tackle those things, but they were an integral part of the band's sound in that period.

Saw these guys a couple years ago, they were fun; I even got a pic with "Geddy".
