Thought I'd give this a go in 2016.  I call myself a Buddhist at times, so I might as well try to walk the walk.

I don't have any problem with anyone eating meat, but I'm disturbed by the thought of animals with a similar nervous system to mine being used as raw materials in industrial processes.

I've cut out red meat so far, which is a jolt because I love sausages.

Chicken next.  Will try to replace it with quorn products.

May well stick with fish, though.

Well if you do stick with fish, that's not quite "vegetarianism" just as a point of information, but still quite laudable.

Very dry!  Believe it or not, I can still tell a carrot from a codfish.

Where do you get your protein, out of interest?

Nuts? (for protein)

Black beans and lentils are good if you're going off eggs and need protein. There's also seitan (wheat gluten) if you can't digest soy.

Please buy my books so I can send my girl to a decent school.

You have to be careful to get the right proteins and all that if you're considering a vegan diet. But ovo-lacto vegetarians, who eat eggs and milk don't need to bother with that. Just try not to eat too much obviously unhealthy food (chips, crisps, chocolate etc). Be sensible. Same rules as for carnivores in that respect.

Do you know how to know if someone is a vegan?

Don't worry, they'll tell you soon enough.

I assumed that was 80% of the meat you Limeys ate, anyway.

I hate myself for eating meat, but it is pretty damn tasty...but seriously, it would be a major environmental plus if a sizeable part of the massive human overpopulation made a better effort at cutting down on meat consumption...especially the red meat...

i was a vegetarian for like three years

i stopped because it turns out that i'm not a narcissist and i don't like being approached as if i am one just for saying "i'm a vegetarian"
