Very loud and appreciative, a lot like the old days. A lot of singing along to the tunes as well.

That's my take as well. Their modern day shows have great entertainment value but in the trade off you lose a lot of that not-ready-for-prime-time spirit of the old days.

How was the crowd? When they came out, did you Brits cheer for them or just stare icily at the stage and say, "Impress us."

 

That's the London crowd.  We sit and applaud with restraint, like how we stand back and wait for the Police to apprehend soldier-killers.

 

Mancs are a bit different.

Mancs are a bit different.

In Sheffield we stand with arms folded and say "Come on then, entertain us" and if it's done well then we'll applaud and cheer. We've paid good money, we want to be entertained.
