Will upload better versions of the best of these at some point. These ones are a bit over-compressed to save bandwidth on my server, they've been resized twice and I haven't had time to play with them much. But I think they give a flavour of the view from the fourth row.

EDIT: took these copies down, wasn't happy with them. Better versions further down.

WOW!

Some seriously nice photos there!

Sucks missing this last tour, but photos like these help to ease the pain. 1st tour I've missed since Presto and the only reason I missed that was because I didn't know they had put out Presto and were touring that year...

Nice photos.

Really nice shots, James. Thanks for sharing. What'd you think of the show?

Thanks mate.

I really enjoyed it. Thought the setlist was a bit challenging. Clearly they're pleasing themselves and that's their right, but I'm sure a lot of people will feel short-changed. I didn't, because I enjoyed nearly all of what we did get. But it seemed unbalanced and could have been a lot better. Will write more in a spoiler thread somewhere at the weekend.

It's a completely different experience than it was when I was in my teens. Different band, different kind of show, huge arenas, different music. Slicker. Much less a live band and much more showbiz.

Oh and by the way I thought the Clockwork Angels stuff was terrific live. Immense. Actually the highlight of the whole gig was one of the CA tunes.

really great pics Slim. I'm also glad that you enjoyed it so much after not being happy with them for awhile.

You just never know. As long as anyone's alive, things change! Or they *can*, anyways! lol

I don't know, but it's been said: You do or don't and then you're dead
So climb away, get higher, son- never straight, just move ahead
Know, my child, that there is no devil seekin' to cause guilt in the hearts to men.
No evil, save blind faith, ignorance, and the desire for the unprepared to blame others for the devastation left in the wake of change.
Fear not the movement of the heavens above or the earth below for change is what we are, my child.
And if we are reflections of the divine we must roll with these changes, for we are these changes.

That's my take as well. Their modern day shows have great entertainment value but in the trade off you lose a lot of that not-ready-for-prime-time spirit of the old days.

How was the crowd? When they came out, did you Brits cheer for them or just stare icily at the stage and say, "Impress us."

Hey there goes Alex. He's loaded with money. Wow he's really set himself up great.
