lolthe older sister was suspended from the same school district a number of yrs ago for some kind of bomb threat and papa's a well known muslim activist.

I don't know, but it's been said: You do or don't and then you're dead
So climb away, get higher, son- never straight, just move ahead
Know, my child, that there is no devil seekin' to cause guilt in the hearts to men.
No evil, save blind faith, ignorance, and the desire for the unprepared to blame others for the devastation left in the wake of change.
Fear not the movement of the heavens above or the earth below for change is what we are, my child.
And if we are reflections of the divine we must roll with these changes, for we are these changes.

Yes, it's looking like this was activism at work rather than just a kid building a clock.  He didn't build a clock either, he just took apart a clock and put it in one of those mini suitcase pencil boxes:

Obama tweeted support for Ahmed and invited him to the White House before the Irving police department released photos of the clock.

Muslim activist, CAIR, and 0bama....3 of a perfect pair.

Clockwork Muslims spread their arms and sing!  :)

On the other hand, it wouldn't have worked if their point hadn't been valid.

Their activism required the police/school district to be stupid and bigoted.

I agree with that but a metal case with a clock wired in a strange way would raise flags no matter the child's ethnicity.  It looks worse than I was led to believe by our POTUS and others who commented on it.  It really depends on the context of how it was introduced, as a project, or just something he kept in his bag and showed on occasion.  Public schools are really skittish these days.

Except that the true experiment wasn't run.  You've got to do the same thing with a white kid bringing a clock-in-a-suitcase to school before you can infer that the kid's religion had anything to do with it.  The lack of a control group completely invalidates the stunt.

Because they (the schools) are gun free zones and only the teenagers intent on shooting someone bring guns to schools to murder their schoolmates. That's one reason schools are skittish.

Ahmed was arrested on 14 September at his school

By Sky News US Team

A 14-year-old Muslim boy who was arrested after a homemade clock he took to his school was mistaken for a bomb is seeking $15m, his lawyers say.

A law firm representing Ahmed Mohamed sent letters on Monday demanding $10m (£6.7m) from the city of Irving, Texas, and $5m from the Irving Independent School District.

The attorneys, who also threatened to pursue legal action, said the teenager deserves the money and an apology because he was publicly mistreated.

Ahmed met President Barack Obama at the White House in October

Ahmed took a homemade clock to his school in September to show a teacher, but another teacher thought it could be a bomb.

The school contacted police, who handcuffed the teenager.

Ahmed, the son of Sudanese immigrants, was suspended from school for three days.

In the wake of his story going viral, Ahmed received multiple job offers and visited the headquarters of Google and Facebook.

He even chatted with President Barack Obama while attending an Astronomy Night event at the White House in October.

Ahmed and his family have since moved to Qatar, where the family accepted a foundation's offer to pay for Ahmed's high school and college tuition in Doha.

Back.  Again.

Well, other than the appearance that the whole thing was staged for publicity and that the little prick has now left the country, nothing.
