Oh aye, he was. My travel plans were well publicised before I went. We all assumed he'd be on his amphibious motorbike. What a mistake-a to make-a.

Seek help.

For Why?

I'm happy in the sure and certain knowledge that Rush aren't as good as they used to be. It happens.

I think somebody found out how to get "the brown note" from the sound board.

The sound in Buffalo was atrocious. The first set was a wave of mid range white noise. No bass, bad echo and weaker songs. However the second set was perfect. It was like Rush was their own opening act, complete with pop songs and bad sound.

Sound in Columbus was great. The low end on the synth stuff, like right before "The clouds prepare for battle" line in JL was brutal. Actually kinda messed with my head for a sec, but overall I have no complaint with the sound. It was loud, but everything was able to be heard. I've had my ears ring for a couple of days after some concerts but by the time I was back at the car I was fine the other night.

I saw the SnA tour in Indy in 07 and was about 16th row. I worked concert production for about 25 years and have been to a ton of concerts so I have something to compare to. The SnA show was pretty gnarly. I had chalked that up to being so close to the stage, seeing as I was in the back, upper level for the Columbus show this week. But in Columbus, the kick drum still could be felt, but everything else seemed  to be balanced overall.

Our front of house guy had this taped to his board for years! We always used to ask him which knob was the suck knob!

I suppose the modern day version would be the brick knob.

Geddy's basses could have been a tick louder in the mix in Chicago.

Not a lot but at times I would have liked to hear his bass articulated a bit more.

The United Center is a crappy place for music.

Great for hockey.

I really wish Alpine Valley had concerts like they used to...

That place was one of the best sounding sheds anywhere in the midwest.

I will agree with you on Ged's bass.. A few times I thought he could have been a bit louder....

Concur with the above 2 posts.  Not always, but at times, it seemed a bit low.  Also couldn't hear Neil's toms all the time.

I definitely thought the 2nd drum kit sounded better than the first.  Any one else agree?  :)

it fuckin did

one big reason is the fukkin fact that he is using REGULAR clear ambassador son the concert toms (and using concert toms as well) and not those shitty dw heads

the shell depth on the regular toms seems to be a bit fukkin deeper as well. plus the controllled sound head son the kicks are great

There should be a R30 board setting.  Madix wouldn't have to do anything.  Problem solved.
