Wifes' Ipad Mini yesterday started to drop apps a few sec to 30 sec after loading, going back to apps screen(desktop on a PC, dunno what apple calls it), or to apple logo screen or even shutdown. any ideas???

Google, gmail, FB, Words w/Friends all are affected. No error msg at all, and my PC is working fine on same network...

The problem with these things is that there isn't much you can do for them. Power off (hold power button) and restart?

Delete the app and re download?

Or you could just throw it away and buy a real tablet...

And yea, I love Apple products.  :D

I actually saw Windows as one of the possible OS for the Ipad...

They said I could be anything, so I became a disappointment.

Would upgrade to an Android tablet. Apple products tend to be unreliable.

Many resets have been done, no help iOS is 8.0. I'm looking in settings and I see 12.7GB Capacity, but 0 bytes available. Not sure what's taking up all the HD space, wife sez she has 3 pics in her pics folder, but settings shows 304 pics. Settings also shows 11 vids, but we don't know where those are to delete. It looks obvious that we need HD availability, just don't know how to go about that...

Is there a 'trash' folder? Items in there obviously continue to take up the same hard drive space. If there's a file manager program use it to nose around and look in obvious places for those videos and image files.

Slim, I'd do that if I knew my way around that infernal contraption, but I haven't seen anything like a control panel or My Computer or (C:)...

First things first.  To give some breathing room, go into Safari and under history, choose clear history to flush the browser cache.  That will give enough back to move around.

Click and hold any application, now X's will appear.  Click the X to delete that App.  The data saved with that app will go too.  This can clear some space off.  You can't delete the apps that come with iOS though.  Facebook is a pig and you might want to delete that one if you can, at least temporarily until you've got it all figured out.

The videos and photos you describe are all under photos.  You might have to change the view once in there, look for an "all photos" or "camera roll" under photos.

My son got it working by basically doing a restore of some sort...now the IPad has over 11G available, those pics/vids gone...Apple support had said I should plug into a PC and go to ITunes but he was able to take it back to default(I'm assuming) and now it's workin' ok...would've like to have found/deleted the source of those vids/photos, but iPad doesn't seem very accessible that way...apparently there is an "other" category for data that is removed when you do a restore or cleanup or what ever the hell Apple calls it...

You can set your iPad to save your photos to the "cloud".
Alternatively use a Google Account or Dropbox (both free) to also automatically save your photos to the cloud.

Yeah, she just uses it, don't think she has it set up optimally. I'll look into that setting...
