Have one, sip it slow.  Pair it with a cigar or BBQ meats.  Save the rest for Thanksgiving/Christmas season when you'll want a nice post-meal sip.

Singlecut is now in Wegmans!

Singlecut is now in Wegmans!

That's the second best beer news to the area in ever.

The best is that Other Half is opening their second location a half an hour from me.

My favorite Singlecut is now Overdrive.  It had to rise above quite a few of my favorites.

As I'm back to the occasional beer now, I'll post more.

Other Half has become huge on the circuit, and probably my second favorite brewery after Tree House.  Very convenient hop off of the BQE for me when I drive home from working in Manhattan on Saturdays, which is typically their release day.  Both Other Half and Singlecut (another favorite) are opening second breweries, Grimm just opened their first physical space, and other breweries like Finback, Barrier, Interboro, KCBC, Greenpoint, and even Killsboro on Staten Island all doing respectable stuff, it's a good time to be a craft beer drinker in NYC!  So...

I was gifted one can of an IPA from Tilted Barn, and it was fantastic.  I need to find more of their stuff!

And so much love for Hill Farmstead, while I've only tried two of their beers.   :(

Spent a lovely Fall weekend up in Warwick, NY.  I hit Equilibrium in Middletown for their Saturday can release and made some great scores (see me on Untappd for specifics).  Really nice people, and apparently moving to a bigger space next year with a tasting room.  Some of the juiciest IPAs out there.

While there we hit a really nice craft beer bar in Warwick called Eddies Roadhouse, excellent tap/can list and great food!  Check it out if you're ever in the area!

Also a lovely afternoon Saturday at Warwick Winery/Black Dirt Distillery.  Big, almost festival sized crowd apple picking, drinking, eating, listening to live music, and just having a good time.  They're the makers of Doc's Hard Cider, and they have some delicious spirts, their bourbon, gin, and rye were all very good!

Singlecut is doing yet another Rush referenced beer, A Modern Day Warrior, which is basically a hopped up version of COBCO without the pink peppercorn.

Saw that.  I'm ok with an occasional Italian style pink peppercorn IPA but really very infrequently.  Glad they are going more straight ahead with Modern Day Warrior.

The Total Wine stores here did truckload deliveries of brews from Great Lakes Brewing Company in Cleveland prior to Thanksgiving, causing me to purchase considerable amounts of Dortmumder Gold and Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. A week or so before Christmas they'll do the same thing with Bell's so I can do the same with the Amber Ale and Special Double Cream Stout.

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to."

I managed to try some more Modern Times beers while in LV last week.  Good stuff.  Was nice to try some of their specials and seasonals.  Not bad for West Coast, though my tastes are still NEIPA.

I'm under the impression that Modern Times makes really good beer, but that it just can't stand up to the tastes of the East Coast hop heads.  My local distributor got in some of their stuff earlier this year that I passed up on in favor of my usuals based solely upon Untappd reviews.

West Coast people drink old IPAs.  I just don't get it.  It's pine-dank bitter garbage.  We drink stuff here that has a shelf life of about two weeks.  It really does make a difference!  People who complain about how bitter IPAs are and how hipsterish they are haven't tasted a proper IPA.
