Oh, that was below the belt, Rob.

But I'm not surprised, so hence I off you this Beyonce video in return!

I do like the music, but that singer's voice is like suicide being poured into my ears.

Mmm, double humbucker StingRay with top horn nesting between beeeeewwwwwwwwwwbs.....

I wonder what she had is resting on?  It wasn't on a strap and that's a lot of bass for a wee girl.

Funny how rock / hip hop / funk go together so well!  Let's see her slap in something other than E minor, though......

Hell yeah! She played that great.

I'd let her sound check my basses anytime.

If I had a gig.

For Max. Something he's probably never experienced.

See? Hip hop and funk can actually sound good when there is good guitar work, e.g., RATM and RHCP.

It's all about the guitar.

The same girl has a video of YYZ, but it is a bit sloppy.

Completing the trifecta, Sound quality sucks, and is uninspired at times, but she does well on the solo, IMO.

Find us a better one.

All this talk about Rush and boobs, I wanted to find Benedictum's cover of "Overture/Temples of Syrinx", but YouTube has taken it down. Guess you will have to settle for seeing Veronica's boobs here...

Negative.  Hip hop and funk all all about the bass.  Good guitarists are ten a penny but RHCP did well because of Flea.

Hmm, she is missing a few notes out there.  Fair play though, I never tried to learn YYZ because there are too many notes and I don't really like it anyway.  I like how she makes that MM sound a bit like a Rickenbacker - must have a bit of fuzz on it.  Usually they are full-on funk engines.

I mean to say it is the guitar that makes bands like RATM and RHCP listenable. If there was no guitar, but instead, some gay-ass synthy noises like as in 99% of rap or hip hop, their music would be just so much crap, like the rest of that stuff is, invalidating any talent the bassist might have.

Yes Flea and Tim C. are great bassists, don't get me wrong. But if they were playing for bands without good guitarists, I cannot imagine why I'd ever want to listen to any of it.

You wouldn't.  Expand your mind.  I don't like most guitar-driven music, but I don't call it just so much crap.  I recognise the artistry and skill of fellow musicians.  Even Fooback Nickelfighters.  Guitars don't make one great.  People make themselves great with thousands of hours of practice.

I have tried listening to that stuff and it does not work for me. And much of it is crap, sorry to say.

Heck, even some of the classical cannon is crap to my ears! Listening to Bela Barftalk or ResPIGi's Pines of Rome makes me want to go hurt someone.

Look at it this way, mate: The music that I despise affects me the same way that Mr. Yorke's voice apparently affects you.
