I had friends in college who were very much into this album, and I got burned out on it.  I suppose it's okay.  Plenty of better music out there though.

Finally...  Steven Wilson's treatment of Yes' Fragile comes out this October.  HIs work has obviously been outstanding, and this is the greatest of all Yes albums...  Full remix, 5.1, usual deluxe package.  Can't wait!

Got my grubby little mitts on the new Opeth Deliverance/Damnation remix with 5.1 mixes and Gentle Giant's Octopus today.

Only had time to play the Damnation 5.1 as yet, but WOW! Steven Wilson should give up his musical career - he's shit LOL - and just do production and remixes :)

Expecting great things from Octopus as the new stereo mix is awesome :)

I don't know what any of these acronyms stand for.  Really don't see the point of buying the same album twice.  I didn't even replace any LPs with CDs.  I'd sooner spend my money on something I haven't heard before.

I've got a blu-ray player but I only have one blu-ray.  The colours are too much and it's hard to watch.  I still buy DVDs because they are cheaper.

It sounds like they formed an opinion without even trying it.

I'm anti cash-grab releases, but most of the remixes being discussed in this thread are NOT cash grabs, and if anything they make very little money for anyone involved.  This is more akin to archiving than anything else.  We only have so long until those old master tapes become unusable, thank god someone with ability is being given rare access to them for sake of converting them into a more time-friendly format (digital).  MT is just being an asshole, as it's obvious they either haven't given this subject any thought or the words in this thread a single read.

So, I finally picked this up on DVD-A from eBay and have been listening to it in the car pretty much non-stop for the past 2 weeks (spurred on partially by all the RRHOF hype, Yes playing with Geddy, etc.).

Once again, Steven Wilson knocks it out of the park, as many of the songs sound so amazingly clear and fresh it's almost like hearing some of these songs for the first time.

I know this is an old thread and has probably been mentioned here in the earlier pages, but one area where DVD-A really shines is in the highs, more specifically the cymbals.  It's so realistic, it sounds like there's an actual drumkit in the car.  You never really realize what you're missing with CD sound until you hear a DVD-A.
