From RushIsABand:

http://www.rushisaba...-new-interviews

"Tom Sawyer, Spirit of Radio and maybe YYZ," Lifeson says. "They've asked us to do classic, kind of iconic songs and those three are the ones." Will Grohl and Hawkins join Rush? Perhaps drumming with Peart? "There's always a chance," Lifeson says cryptically. "We're working on some things."

Seems like Limelight would be a better choice than YYZ, no? It would be more familiar to most people, and the lyrics seem appropriate!

I love Limelight more than any of thise songs but to blow away the room properly its time to take out the heavy artillery. TSOR is better with a crowd 100% on your side because it loses energy live vs studio. I'd have gone TS, YYZ and Limelight myself

Perhaps, the medley of songs they did to open R30. Not a bad idea. Limelight, The Spirit of Radio, Subdivisions, great songs. How do you pick???

^^^This.

"Can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing, I ain't pretty, and my legs are thin.

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to."

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

I like that. Blow the fracking roof off the place with YYZ.

Hopefully they throw a mini drum solo in the same place as ESL. Just becasue.

Ok, I think I may be convinced that YYZ is a good choice. It will indeed showcase their chops and blow people away, even if they've never heard it.

I'd also love to see Neil do a mini drum solo in the middle as well. He is an iconic drummer, so I think it makes sense, even though this induction is really about the band, not individual members.

Wouldn't just be great if they did Xanadu and walked off the stage?

Rivendell!

There was an awesome question about Rivendell the other night at the Arclight Q&A. Alex mentioned something about them being stoned while recording it.

I just heard that I should prepare to be surprised by today's performance. Apparently some wackiness is going to go down.

Here's something. Not sure if anyone has confirmed, but the Foo Fighter's cover of 2112 must have been in the original key, not tuned down as Rush had been playing it for the last couple of decades. It didn't need to be tuned down since Geddy didn't sing (except for "And the meek...").

Rush joined them towards the end, and went right into Tom Sawyer, with I believe, the same instruments.

There ya go. Useless Rush fact of the day.
