Thought I'd take a break from being a cunt for a while.

As I have attained Dworkin-like proportions recently, and found that I'm no more unattractive than I ever was, I decided to embrace the crispy/oily lifestyle; hey, you only live once.

So, Fried Hall Of Fame, anyone?

I'll start:

Fried fricken chicken!!! Ever notice that chicken is basically flavorless until you add some toxic waste to it? Stupid birds.

lol

You're being a good cunt...keep it up.

Chicken basically sucks, but fried, it's OK...as long as it's dark meat.

If I'm having fried, I like fried catfish and oysters...

Pretty much everything is delicious dipped in good batter and deep fried.

Burgerville restaurants around here serve deep fried asparagus in the spring which is pretty dang heavenly.

Shrimp. Beer battered. Tempura. Panko. I don't care, as long as it's shrimp (and the bigger the better).

The best I ever had was some my grandmother fried up that was caught by her husband, my step-grandad, the morning she fried it and I was on the boat to help.

They said I could be anything, so I became a disappointment.

Embracing the Scottishness of Britain, I love deep fried Pizza followed by deep fried Mars Bar. Bliss.

Deep fried twinkie I shared from a British style Chipshop was sublime.

Deep fried brussels sprouts with a crumble of goat cheese and curry ketchup to dip just a tiny corner in were amazing.

We have a place here called Garden Catering.  They have a High School Special which is a paper bag filled with fries and home made chicken breast nuggets and a can of soda for $6  You can swap the fries, for an extra dollar for something called Potato Cones which are little dollops of crisp deep fried mashed potatoes.  So good.

Chicken livers fried in fresh bacon grease.....my Mom's specialty.  Healthed it up a little bit over the years, but the real thing is still the best.  YUMMY1.gif

Seafood, especially Grouper.

Chicken wings-drums and flats.  Bring on the hot sauce.

Tempura veggies.

Need to get back to MI, go to a Hopcats. get some brews and an order of Crack Fries (beer battered french fries).

I take it you've been there since the move, is CJ's rocking the Ashley St. location?

Next spring/summer.  In winter I become a Hermit, basically...don't even go to Ann Arbor much.....but I will after the students leave for summer break next year!  The Site is still up, and has one update since the opening in Sept. of this year! http://www.blimpyburger.com/  It's now located next to "The Fleetwood Diner" if you remember that!  I've eaten there as well a few times!

When I prepare salmon, I save the skin, salt it until it's dry and pan fry it to make a 'potato chip from the ocean.'

It's basically what sushi chefs use when they make salmon skin rolls.  The secret is using the right amount (and good quality) salt.  Usually takes 5 days or so for them to desiccate.  Then they become awesome...

They're only a topping if you want it.  They give props to California regarding the creation of the dog, but likely the dog underneath it all over there is probably an Oscar Meyer.  The hot dogs here are insanely good, made by crazy people and customized for the individual restaurants.

While we are on hot dogs in this fried foods category, I present to you the world famous Rutt's Hut Ripper

5ffca9a08bcacacfe6da4eb63d2baebc.jpg

Hot dogs deep fried until the skin "rips" topped with "relish" which no one really knows what it's made from but compliments the dog immensely.  It's not too sweet.  It's not mustardy either.  It's really it's own thing.  The one on the left is a "ripper".  The one on the right is a "creamator" which is, you guessed it, burnt all the way through.  Tastes like bacon.
