Yeah, I really don't get the iHype at all.

Inferior products for twice the price?  No thanks.

The only Apple product I have is an old iPod and I only have it because, at the time I bought it, it was the only MP3 player on the market with a 120 gig hard drive.

My only problem with Apple is their unmitigated greed for their products.... SS/DDboredwaiting.gif

Apple stuff is OK. Most of my family has iPhones - they seem to like them.

I am hooked on my iPod and iTunes as music players. Dig the capacity on the iPod, and the drag and drop playlist functionality in iTunes. (I buy from Amazon and others though).

My phone is an Android. I'm a LINUX geek, and really like having the penguin in my pocket. Just because.

And later when I get a new phone, the old one can be jailbroken, OS upgraded, and used as a mini computer/pda - not tied to any phone service.

It's just a little LINUX box. I don't know what I will use it for, but I know that I can. Maybe even just as a mini LCD screen to scroll headlines or photos on my desk.

Can't do that with an old iPhone.

Is that code for something or did you just reveal a little too much about your sexual interests?

I agree that they have good products.  But it is concerning how behind the times they are in R&D since Steve Jobs has passed.  They can't seem to get beyond the "improvement" of a product to announce the latest and greatest gadget known to humankind.  The watch doesn't count as android already did it...

It's a Linux media player.

Every time I'm on a non-Linux machine, I weep.

It interfaced better with my iPod than iTunes did back when I used Linux extensively.

I was at a start-up company and we had an idiot VP of finance who depised Windows so much he refused to by MS or use products.  All of our desk computers were top of the line iMacs, the internal servers were Mac, PDAs, etc.   He was obsessed about it, that bordered on the deranged....(he even wore a t-shirt, "Windows Sucks")

Unfortunately for him all of our lab equipment and lab computers was MS based, our production equipment MS based, our customers used MS products, you name it....

He had to spend thousands on emulators and special data and mail servers, that would always crash....losing time and money and clients.  But it didn`t matter to him....

I still don`t get it actually....
