I saw on FB that Dave Kilminster appeared on night two at RAH.  I love that guy!  How's the new guitarist sounding in comparison to the previous two?

Dave Kilminster was the first guitarist I saw the band with, so I can't compare Alex Hutchings with Guthrie Govan. Alex is certainly a fantastic guitarist, and more than up to the job. I'm not sure about about the Waghorn guitars he uses, they sound fine but just appeal to me aesthetically for some reason.

Gutted to have missed Dave guesting last night, I can't really justify attending multiple evenings. Looking forward to seeing him playing with Roger Waters in Hyde Park in the summer.

The Philadelphia show last night was fantastic! Awesome setlist and the band performed perfectly to my ears. They were running late and racing to beat a hard 11pm curfew. We missed out on Even Less in the encore as a result I suspect. Probably should have the opening act start at 7:15 rather than 7:30 to give themselves a little breathing room. Got to meet Craig and Alex after the show as they came out to the lobby to chat with fans and take photos. Hope there is another US leg with a date close enough to me. It would be a no brainer about attending.

How was the sound? On the UK shows it was as good as I’ve ever heard at a gig.

The sound was pristine to my ears. Very loud yet very clear at the same time. I forgot my earplugs but didn't regret it one bit. Was surprised that I didn't have the post show ear ringing I typically have when I don't wear ear plugs.

I went to the second NYC show last night.  Great performance, got the alternate set being the second night.  First set leaned more heavily on H.C.E., honestly would've preferred more of the new album, but still excellent, if a little melancholic.  Did get to hear the acoustic

Spoiler
, which was really nice.  Sound was crystal clear, band was on point.  Alex Hutchings was very good, not as silky smooth nor as soulful as Dave Kilminster, but he played well and did a nice job.

And saw Jordan Rudess milling around the crowd at three for three NYC shows now.

Went to first night of Chicago shows. Was unfortunately late as the advertised opener didnt ever go on and SW went on at show time. So my friends and I missed the first 4.5 songs. Still got 2 hours of show and it was magnificent. The sound was great, teetering on being too loud but wasnt and was crystal clear. Really nice visual show, showed my kids the video i took from song of Unborn, they got a kick out of the projected dancer.

A photo album of Steven Wilson gigs (most recently at the London gigs on the current tour) by a guy I know on another Rush forum. Some superb stuff there.

Will be seeing him tomorrow but had a question. Is that Ninet person playing her own set or just singing the parts in his songs?

They said I could be anything, so I became a disappointment.

At the London gigs she just sang her parts in the songs. At the three gigs I went to elsewhere in the UK she wasn’t there at all.

For you I think it's likely both. She and her band are the support act on the west coast shows. Can't imagine her not singing her parts of the SW songs live if she's there.

Watch it before Wilson gets it taken down. Video of most of the setlist from the current tour, from a variety of different shows.

Haven't checked in in a week or so. Thanks for sharing this. I'll be checking it out tonight.

Is this just something you came across on YouTube? FLAC version available (assuming it sounds good)?

A friend posted the link on Farcebook. There’s a download link in the comments, which is about a 3GB GB WAV file of the original recording. I have all the software tools for cutting the tracks and converting to FLAC but to tell the truth I don’t think I can be arsed (but I downloaded the file anyway, just in case ;) )

Presale tickets acquired for Starland Ballroom in New Jersey for December 1st!  Pretty psyched because we got the alternate setlist last time I saw him (night 2 NYC).  Seemed like a slightly "off" night for some reason, or that he felt he was playing to the same crowd for a second night (which to some extent he probably was).  Either way it definitely the least "on" I've seen him, and we didn't get a lot of the new stuff.  I also love the venue, kinda backwoods NJ, GA with multiple bars, and a place I have a lot of history with.

Also always fun to have shows to look forward to, and this will finish out the year strongly after seeing Clutch and NIN in October!

At the Philly show back in April, SW said that he thought they wouldn't be playing seated venues anymore due to the amount of people just sitting the entire show. Based on the venues he's playing this time around, seems like he was serious. Doesn't bother me either way. No way am I going to miss another chance to see his again.

He's playing in Sayerville? Man... never thought I'd see that happen.

Why does he have this attitude that he needs to control his audience's behavior? He doesn't like them sitting?  Well then, give them a reason to stand up buddy.

People stood for most of the /PT/ shows at the Beacon Theater in 07, and at RCMH in 10'.  What changed? LOL.

I saw Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. There was seating - I ended up sleeping through the entire show.
