I'm very happy to support Record Store Day this year with an exclusive 12 inch vinyl based around a previously unreleased song recorded during the To the Bone sessions. How Big the Space has lyrics written by XTC's Andy Partridge, and was actually one of my favourite songs from the sessions, but it's more 60's psychedelic feel meant that it didn't quite fit with the other songs on the album. Side 1 of the 12 inch features two quite different mixes of the title song, while side 2 is a version of People Who Eat Darkness from the album, but with Ninet Tayeb on lead vocals.

How Big The Space will be released on 12" blue vinyl via Caroline International on 21st April 2018.

In this area, record store days have become like one of those shopping sprees you see on TV. Lots of people get in line way before the stores open and charge to the racks to buy whatever they think they can re-sell on ebay. No thanks.

They said I could be anything, so I became a disappointment.

I agree completely.  And here in Denver, the local independent record store inflates the prices to take advantage of the collectors which is completely against the spirit of why Record Store Day was started in the first place.

... I'll wait for the digital version to surface.

Very good gig. The venue was very small (about 800 capacity and general admission) but the sound was good apart from some piano/keyboard distortion on a couple of songs in the first set. Great atmosphere in the Hall (no doubt helped by it being in Belfast on St Patrick’s Day). Alex Hutchings seems to be a good player although perhaps he hasn’t evolved his own personality within the band yet. We got the basic setlist plus an extra encore of Prince’s Sign O’ The Times. I did get the impression that the band are playing heavier and with greater intensity than before. That might be because it was in a small venue. Two more shows next weekend in big theatres so we’ll see how it is in the bigger venues.

Damn, I wish I lived in the UK! All three nights should be filmed to maximize the content but at least there will be a proper Blu-ray release of this tour.

Also, if anyone hears about bootlegs for any of these shows, particularly the second night, please share where to find it either here or via PM if you don't want to post the link in public.

Phenomenal show last night! Band in great form and as Pete mentioned in a previous post sounding grittier and harder edged than before. Steven even acknowledged this when he introduced his new 63 Telecaster Custom, demonstrating it's aggressive clean tones, explaining how it's the first instrument he's had a passionate bond to.

Ninet Tayeb guesting on 4 songs, including People Who Eat Darkness, she seemed to relish delivering the opening lines of the first verse.

Steven with assistance of the Bollywood backing dancers from the video, encouraged even the most reluctant members of the audience to participate in a bit of disco dancing for Permanating. A special dispensation was given to any King Crimson fans in the audience, it was enough for them to just tap a foot in time with the music.

Regret #9, I don't think I will ever get tired of Adam Holzman's Moog solo on this, it sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it and that's before you even get to the guitar solo.

Only down side was having to be seated for the majority of the gig, I always find this frustrating. We were in the arena section, which could easily be sold as general admission.

I certainly did! Although the space between the seating was a little too cramped to fully express myself and bust out some of my more flamboyant moves.

I saw on FB that Dave Kilminster appeared on night two at RAH.  I love that guy!  How's the new guitarist sounding in comparison to the previous two?
