I'm not one for games on forums, but I thought this could be fun.  Or maybe not...lol

It involves someone posting a question (don't be a dick and make it impossible) and it's answered until the correct answer is given.  The person who answers it correctly gets to ask a question until another person answers it correctly, then THEY get to ask a question...rinse, lather, repeat.

Oh, can't use teh googles to find the answer...or you will be wounded.  Not sure how yet, but I may have ORF shoot you in the head since he's so fond of that.

Each person will get three guesses per question and then they can't guess any longer.  No time limit...

Here's the first question...

How old is Tiger Woods...?

Too old to act like a womanizing adolescent?

Golf trivia is in my wheelhouse.

Up next, Presidential trivia.

Chronologically speaking, who was the first U.S. President to have facial hair* in his official Presidential Portrait, AND who was the last President to so-appear?

*Facial hair means mustache, beard, or both, but not mutton chops.

Curiously, the American Presidency can just about be divided into three eras: no facial hair, facial hair, and no facial hair.  So I'm looking for the first and last of the middle era.

Taylor to Cleveland...?

I'm trying to picture all of the portraits, and, unsurprisingly, the details are a bit hazy.

Oh, crap, I know that's wrong, because I just remembered what Pierce looked like, so it can't be...

Damnit.

You'll have to get Greg to tell us the rules on guessing again.  Probably should be some time out period.

Just realized I do remember who's last with (almost) 100% certainty.  Now to figure out when it started.
I can do it for ancient Rome...  Hadrian to Caracalla.

But nobody cares about that. :P

So Hadrian was an emperor? I did not know that.

I thought it was just a crappy made up band name.

He was the third of the "Five Good Emperors."
It was actually a bit of a political statement that he wore a beard.  The tradition was for Roman statesmen, since the time of the Republic, to be clean-shaven.  His beard was a big break with tradition that carred on until Geta (one of the sons of Septimius Severus).

Rules??  I didn't think anyone was even going to play!!  ;)

I don't know, what do you think, one shot per question per person?  I guess if it catches on, we can say that it's one guess per person per day.  But the goal here isn't to create a part time job.  I think one guess per person per question is good for now?

It's your game... but it might keep things going better if you had a time out... like 5 wrong guesses by others then you can get back in or something.

That's a better idea.  Give it a number limit instead of a time limit.  So, let's go with 3 guesses per person per question.  I'll add this to the OP.

Hope it catches on, could be fun!

Yes, that's it.

Lincoln set the trend, apparently in response to a woman who wrote him to say he would look more handsome with a beard (less ugly).  Wore it without the mustache.

From Lincoln to Taft, only Andrew Johnson and William McKinley bucked the trend of facial hair.

So, 15 straight Presidents - no facial hair.

Of the next 11 presidents (or 12 if you want to count Cleveland twice), facial hair on all but 2.

Of the latest 17, no facial hair.

Reb's up next.
